Phyllostachys aurea (Fish-Pole Bamboo)
Phyllostachys aurea is a type of bamboo that is native to China's Fujian and Zhejiang provinces. It is a perennial grass that reproduces vegetatively through underground stems called rhizomes. 
The canes of Phyllostachys aurea are hard but flexible, and are used to make a variety of items, including: umbrella handles, walking sticks, fan handles, and pipe stems. 
A fiber from the stems of Phyllostachys aurea is also used to make paper.
