Pentas lanceolata is a flowering plant native to tropical Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. It's a popular garden plant that attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. The plant can grow up to 2–3 feet tall and produces large clusters of starry flowers in shades of pink, white, red, and lavender.
Here are some tips for caring for Pentas lanceolata:
Plant in well-drained soil with a neutral pH and rich in organic matter.
Place in a bright, sunny location with 5–6 hours of sunlight.
Maintain a temperature of 18–30°C.
Use a well-balanced liquid fertilizer every 3 months, or use a phosphorus-rich fertilizer in the spring.
Pentas can tolerate partial shade, but they may become leggy if they don't get at least 3 hours of bright light per day.
