Plumbago zeylanica is a perennial shrub with many branches and alternate leaves. It is found throughout India and is also cultivated in gardens. 
In Ayurveda, Plumbago zeylanica is used to treat a variety of conditions, including:

Skin diseases
Tumorous growths
Chronic menstrual disorders
Viral warts
Chronic nervous system diseases 
The root and root bark of the plant are used in Ayurvedic medicine. A paste of the root is also used externally to treat leprosy and other skin diseases.
